Love And Hate

Things that Big Dumb Object loved and hated this week:

Loved

  • The Arthur C. Clarke Award, which always generates a whole load of press coverage and interesting debate about Science Fiction.
  • The finale of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Woah. Cooool.
  • Writing lots. Making things is good.

Hated

  • The Sarah Connor Chronicles ending, may be for good.
  • May already?

Yeah, it was great, wasn't it? I was under the impression that this was the unwilling Series Finale as well as the Season Finale, but the word on the street is that it *was* cancelled, but now they're re-thinking their decision. It went from "on the bubble" to "Dead" to "on the bubble" again. I've got my fingers crossed because the actor who plays Unky Reese mentioned a few things they'd talked about for the third season if the show got picked up, and they definitely sound interesting.

(My review is online here if you want to read it http://www.republibot.com/content/episode-reviews-terminator-sarah-connor-chronicles-%E2%80%9Cborn-run%E2%80%9D-season-2-episode-22-season-fin )

Also, neither here nor there, but the penultimate episode of "Dollhouse" was a jaw-dropper and if/when you guys get "Kings," I'd love to hear your opinions of it. Some people I know have accused it of being "Too English" to play over here, and I'd love to get an actual British perspective.
