Love & Hate

Things that Big Dumb Object has loved and hated this week:

Loved

  • Started reading The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon. Instantly hooked.
  • Terminator Salvation trailers, which are all looking awesome.
  • Sunshine (the weather).
  • Birthday presents!

Hated

  • A week without Lost. What's that all about? I don't get US television scheduling, and now UK airing of US shows is intertwined we inherit the craziness.

That is a good selection of birthday presents.

Are you still on your post-apocalyptic kick? If so you should check out Far North by Marcel Theroux, I think.

Happy Birthday! Yiddish Policemen is awesome - apparently the Coen brothers are going to make a film, which is also awesome.

Well, officially apocalypse obsession was last year :-) I reckon Canticles is the last classic I *have* to read, but also have Oryx And Crake and The Stand on the shelf (maybe this summer's reading?!). I will check out Far North though.

Ooh, they would make a good film I think. About half way through, amazing atmosphere. Keep pausing to appreciate the prose.
