The Road to be made into a film

Due to the success of No Country For Old Men, Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalyptic book The Road is to be made into a film. Rumours for the casting are Charlize Theron for the mother and Guy Pearce or Viggo Mortensen for the father. Viggo would be brilliant. Although I can't see how they can pull this off. Please prove me wrong.
