Battlestar Galactica 211 - Resurrection Ship Part 1
Back to Battlestar Galactica with a bang and an awesome episode.
Spoilers ahead!
So it starts with the viper fleets of the Galactica and Pegasus dogfighting each other, but without shooting. Very cool long shot of the ships twirling around each other. At first I thought that Starbuck stopping the fight was a bit of a cop out but thinking about it, and after seeing the whole episode I think it worked.
The tension was pretty intense throughout the whole episode, with Adama and Cain facing off against each other the whole time.
Two big things happened. Firstly they found the Resurrection Ship, the place where Cylons gets downloaded to and given a new body. That's pretty cool, they're so far away from the homeworld that they need a repeater! Secondly, the episode ends with Adama and Cain both making plans to assassinate each other! Blimey guvnor.
Characters I liked a lot this episode: Starbuck for standing up to Cain, President Laura for suggesting to Adama to kill Cain, Tigh for getting hold of the truth about Cain and Cain for being so nasty.
But of course, my favourite character this episode is my all time favourite character in the series, Baltar. He's trying to protect the cylon, whilst trying to protect himself, whilst trying to deal with visions of a naked Number Six (who needs a red dress!). A nice subtle performance from him.
The plot this season have seemed awesomely gungho and dense and this one was no exception. As usual, it left me gagging for more. I want to know what happens now!
Brilliant.
