Battlestar Galactica 201 - Scattered
So things were pretty bad at the end of last season right?
Adama was shot. Starbuck was fighting for her life on Caprica. Apollo and the President were in the brig. Baltar and a team were downed on Kobol.
Where on earth (err in space) could it go from there?
SPOILERS AHEAD
Well....it just gets worse.
The Galactica initiates the fleets emergency jump and arrives all alone. And really the whole episode is just about the big bad Battlestar trying to find the fleet. Nothing really gets tied up from the loose ends of last season. In fact even more threads begin.
Baltar is going even more loopy.
Apollo is still angry off.
Starbuck is alive but then gets stranded when Sharon hightails it in the cylon raider.
Adama is still crtitical but not dead.
The team on Kobol are still lost.
And then a team of Cylons manage to board the Galactica.
In the end the episode let me down. It was grim and intense and the swarming cylons were good to see again, but I felt that the story was being dragged out too much. Plus the multiple plotlines give less time for the interesting characters. Maybe it will take a while to settle down? Don't get me wrong, it's still a great show, but it can do so much better than this.
