Battlestar Galactica - Season 1 - Episode 11 - "Colonial Day"

Full details of the episode (that's SPOILERS!) can be found on the Sky One Battlestar Galactica episode guide.

The quorum of 12 are elected and meet for the first time. Spoilers ahead...

An episode more West Wing than Science Fiction with political intrigue by the bucketful. Richard Hatch was back, acting suitably nasty in a controlled, political animal type of way. He does a pretty good job actually, perhaps he's channeling all that anger from over the years about getting the Battlestar Galactica wranglings sorted out? President Laura has a good episode, I came away liking her more by the end, very focused (no hallucinations this time). Nasty character goes once again to Tigh's wife, booo! hisss! I don't like her, but that's the point.

Apollo and Starbuck acted as the hard men/women doing security. They got into a fight but the overtones were definitely love as they got on really well, flirting a lot. Plus Starbuck put on a dress at the end and looked all right.

Surprise political animal of the episode? Baltar of course! He's so cool. He managed to set up the vote, get elected and pull a female delegate. What a geezer. interesting that he managed to loose Number Six whilst "entertaining" the new woman. Baltar for President!

And then at the end, finally! Helo figures out that the Cylons have made some humans and sees a "Sharon" clone. Then he runs away. Still a bit dripfed but at least something is happening.

Not much SF this episode but I'm so into the characters now that I don't care.
